Sarah Baillieu

Founder & Principal Architect

Sarah has 17 years of experience in the residential and commercial sectors. She began her career in London at Harper Mackay and then Marks Barfield Architects (MBA), who are renowned for their conception of the London Eye. At MBA Sarah worked on Schools for the Future and Woking Galleries. Following the completion of her professional training at the Architectural Association in 2004, Sarah left MBA to focus on her own practice which she originally established in west London, before moving to Hampshire in 2011. She now specializes in the residential sector for private clients, landowners and developer clients. Sarah’s experience includes many listed buildings, Areas of Outstanding National Beauty (including the South Downs National Park) and buildings in conservation areas.

Sarah enjoys being faced with a challenging brief and devising pragmatic and creative solutions for her clients. Having managed and expanded her own property portfolio, Sarah is used to dealing directly with all aspects of the construction and property industry and brings her efficient and no-nonsense approach to every client project.

Together the team at Baillieu Architects has in excess of fifty years of experience in the architectural industry. Our core philosophy is that each project is unique and deserves a fresh and dynamic approach. We work closely together to deliver bespoke solutions and environments that work for you.

Residential:  We undertake projects of all sizes in the residential sector.  We offer our clients the full range of architectural and project management services. Our expertise lies in residential extensions, refurbishments and new build homes.  With many years of experience in interior architecture we can also assist you with interior layouts, lighting, and kitchen and bathroom specifications.

Commercial: We have sound commercial capability in mixed-use high street developments.  We have converted office and retail units into residential flats and worked closely with developers and land owners on larger residential apartment developments and commercial projects.

Collaborative initiatives: We welcome collaboration and work closely with trusted partners where specialist intervention is identified. Our strong relationships with contractors, builders and trade suppliers means that we can assemble, coordinate and manage your project team through the design and construction process safely.  We have established strong working relationships with our consultants built on trust and good workmanship.
